02 / ETHNOS · IN DEVELOPMENT
Discover a country through the people who live there. Join a community, talk across languages and turn a digital encounter into a human relationship.
“Each of our differences is an invaluable richness.”

THE BELIEF
Ethnos imagines a global digital public square organized around cultures, peoples, countries and cities. Its richness comes from the people who take part: their languages, stories, practices and ways of inhabiting the world.
The project aims to give everyone the opportunity to meet people they would probably never encounter otherwise. A small community, a diaspora or a remote region should be able to find its place, with its own voices and reference points.

A HUMAN GEOGRAPHY
The world map is a gateway to communities. The journey moves from a territory to the topic that interests you: a country, a city, a theme, then a discussion room. Each conversation is placed back in a human and cultural context.
Travelers, residents, students, expatriates and diaspora members can meet around a place or shared interest. The ambition is to gradually open the network to more languages and territories, including those that are less visible.

TALK ACROSS LANGUAGES
Translation is designed at the heart of Ethnos: read in a chosen language, identify the source language and retain access to the original message. It helps cross the language barrier while preserving the voice of the person speaking.

Take part in a conversation with people whose language you do not yet share.
Translation supports dialogue; nuances and cultural references are also discovered through exchange.
VOICES TO DISCOVER
Ethnos plans official spaces for creators, media, NGOs and organizations. Recognizable spaces to share know-how, host discussions, promote an initiative or bring a community together around an event.

CONCRETE USEFULNESS
Express a need, offer help, identify a local initiative or join an event: mutual aid and solidarity are central to the project.
Someone could find support in their city, an association could meet new participants, and a cultural event could bring together members who first met in a room. Digital interaction then becomes a starting point for useful relationships.
SPACES FOR CONNECTION
These uses describe the ecosystem Ethnos is aiming for. The project is in development; their availability will evolve as it is built.
Public spaces by country, city and theme to join a conversation and talk with members who are present.
Continue an encounter privately, with an invitation and the freedom to accept or leave the conversation.
Find members and discover their languages, interests and geographic roots.
Arrange a meeting, share an initiative, offer help or express a need.
Meet someone outside your usual circle and start a conversation after mutual consent.
Break the ice with a game, a friendly duel or a shared activity.
THE HUMAN COMMITMENT
Ethnos is built around three design commitments: no advertising, no resale of personal data and no algorithm designed to keep users artificially engaged. The project’s funding is moving toward a direct relationship with its members.
Invitations, mutual acceptance and the ability to end a conversation provide a framework for connection.
The project combines reporting, protection tools and human intervention to support community life.
Original languages, local reference points and dedicated spaces make it possible to connect cultures while preserving their uniqueness.

HUMAN NETWORKS OF CULTURES AND PEOPLES
Ethnos is an ElouardiGroup project. Its ambition: bring people closer and turn human diversity into a force for connection.
